After the presentation, I have come away with a few paths
that I can take to alter my idea to better the overall pictures. First of all
being the location.
I am happy with the variety of locations I have looked to
present in my pre-production folder as it meant I could show a range. When
presenting the locations, I felt that St Mary’s Guildhall was the best choice,
due to both it being inside and also matching the historical past. I however
was advised that the Medieval Bishop’s Palace, although a wrong time period,
has a much more aesthetic look to it. Although the palace is in ruins, some of
the rooms of the palace still remain; these could be perfect areas to create my
photographs.
Another element that was discussed is the style in which I am
going to create my final pieces. My original idea is that I would create a 5
image piece that shows a very selective chunk of the story, only showing the
transformation of Arachne from human to spider (much resembling the work of
Duane Michals). However it was brought up that I could actually breakdown the
story and create between 3-4 of the main segments, this will not only enhance
the fact that I’m telling a narrative, but also help to give it a stronger link
to the actual mythological story.
